And here I thought Astral Drift was a reprint (part of why I didn't post it at first). Obviously, I'd mistakenly conflated it and Astral Slide...

(Although knowing Heliod, it's a surprise he doesn't want something in return.)

It's one of many of MH1's reprinted-but-slightly-different cards, this one being an upgrade because cycling it also counts.

Another one is Giver of Runes, which is like Mother of Runes but can protect from colorless but also can't protect itself, where that last part is a major debuff.

I should note the art I posted was an alternate promo art. It's very silly. I love what they did there.

Set should be called Commander Horizons.

I . . . am I seeing this right? Conjurer's Closet, for 3 mana, that also is a creature and grows every turn? Wow. I guess at least it comes with the added vulnerability of being a creature, and doesn't have the interaction with Threaten effects that Closet has, but still, wow.

Also has pretty specific color restriction. Nevertheless, it still seems like a good card.

I'm a little disappointed there are no new monored or red/x Changelings, but I suppose there's only so much room for new cards.

So is the box worth Preordering? If so: How much should it be priced?

Is it better to wait to buy singles? Or preorder singles now?

What are you guys thinking?

I'm probably going jump in on singles, specifically a lot of the <$5 ones and then probably The First Sliver (because I really like slivers). I really want to try out stuff like Urza and Yawgmoth, but some of these cards are a bit more expensive than I'd like.

Buying a box sounds fun, but I'm unlikely to get what I want out of one box.

Ae you going to get the singles now? Or after release?

Do you think prices will go up or down?

Most cards like Urza are overpriced because some people will not wait. There are surely some cards that are underpriced too though. My recommendation? Don't preorder anything over $2, if you open anything that is $10 on release weekend or so sell it. You can usually get it for cheaper in a month or so. Modern Horizons isn't a limited release product so that means that people will likely be opening it for a while. But if it flops or was artificially limited in supply prices would go up quicker. Just my thoughts.

With perfect mana, reasonable removal, disruption, and card advantage, we're back to pitchforks and torches. And it's about to get worse for those who do not enjoy the game as Richard Garfield intended, playing as few win conditions as possible and prompting concession after all hopes (and spells) are lost. - Shaheen Soorani

Hall of Heliod's Generosity and The First Sliver are cards I'm kind of expecting to increase in price. Hall being around $10-$15 seems especially underpriced. Its very similar to Volrath's Stronghold in effect, and even though Volrath is likely the stronger of the two getting enchantments back on a land is really good.

With The First Sliver, it's possible it'll settle after inital hype like Hivelord did, but Hivelord also started out a lot lower than The First Sliver upon release (about $20 rather than the $30-$45). Cascade is a really popular mechanic though, and it could be that Wizards is looking to do something with the sliver tribe in upcoming sets. I just don't want this one to end up like Sliver Queen where I'll probably never get one, since it's currently at ~$190 (peaked due to The First Sliver's reveal, but I'm guessing probably won't get lower than the $110 it was at after WAR's release).

The better comparison would probably be Academy Ruins, which is sitting around $30.
